The History of the World Barefoot Council History

Philippe Poyette from France (EOA) has been the sole historian for the World Barefoot Council. On his own he initiated the collection and recording of the barefoot water skiing history. Our thanks go out to him for all his work and diligent effort in being the person behind the history.

2018 has brought some changes. Philippe had work commitments that did not permit him to devote his time so a new historian was named. The WBC Chairman announced John M. Cornish II Ed. D would be the newly appointed historian.

With a new historian comes new ideas. A WBC History Committee was formed, made up of a representative from each of the three World Barefoot Confederations. A biography of each of the members can be found following this description.

In addition, each confederation representative formed a sub-committee made up of representatives from the countries or areas of the confederation. These committees are responsible for assisting, developing and reviewing all the submissions for country, region, confederations and world history content. All content is reviewed by the WBC prior to posting.

The WBC History Committees are seeking any information individuals might have that would be of interest and appropriate for submission to the WBC. Please contact any of the committee members if you would like to offer history content.
