What got you into officiating?
The need for more officials to be able to run local events. Most competitors chip in and officiate in some capacity to help run local events.

Why do you continue to officiate?
I enjoy it and I feel my involvement can help my skiing in addition to help run an event more smoothly.

Who has inspired you in this sport?
As an official John Price, Donna Forge, Ken Derry (Snr) and Natasha Derry are my standout favourites However I have tremendous respect for all the officals which includes drivers, scores and homologators. They do a tremendous job both locally, Nationally and Internationally. It is what makes our sport standout from others.

What skiers have you enjoyed watching and why?
I enjoy watching all skiers but the juniors I find inspirational, the open amazing (although I haven't judged open much at all) and the Mens 3 and 2 hilarious.

Do you have a nickname and how did you get it?
Gizie - basically short for Gizella. Nobody remembers Gizella but they don't have a probably remembering me as Gizie. Aussie are known for cutting their words and names for people and things short.

What other activities do you participate in?
On a competitive level, more recently, I have tried my hand at Dragon Boat Paddling. On a social level I enjoy running and walking with my dog Buster. I practice yoga regularly and paddle my kayak when there isn't a boat crew to go ski.
