2019 IWWF Barefoot Athletes of the Year!

The IWWF Male and Female Barefoot Athletes of the year have been announced, and it is with great pleasure that we congratulate Jackson Gerard and Georgia Groen! This award was based on their performances in IWWF homologated tournaments throughout 2019.

Jackson Gerard had a spectacular year taking out Gold in tricks, slalom and jump at the U.S. Barefoot Nationals. Jackson also took the Overall Open Pro title, replacing St. Onge and Scarpa, who had ruled the podium for the past two decades. 2019 only got better for Jackson, with personal bests of 11,600 in tricks, 19.0 in slalom and 23.8m in jump.
These results placed Jackson at the top of the list to achieve the 2019 IWWF Barefoot Athlete of the Year.

Georgia Groen had outstanding performances at the Oceania Championships, German Opens, Scandanavian Opens, Orange Opens, Italian Nationals and European Championships, winning 1st overall in every competition. Georgia is also ranked 1st in Jump and 2nd in Slalom, Tricks and Overall on the World Rankings List. Adding to the successes, Georgia set a new National Women’s Jump record, with a massive jump of 22.3m.
Georgia has had an outstanding year and is deserving of the 2019 IWWF Barefoot Athlete of the Year award.

Many congratulations to Jackson Gerard and Georgia Groen. They both have not only shown great talent and athleticism, but a true dedication to the sport. They will both be honoured with an awards presentation at the 2020 World Barefoot Waterski Championships at Liverpool, Australia.
